Cercis chinensis 'Don Egolf'
Origin: Released from the USDA National Arboretum in July 2000. Height/Spread: Grows to 9ft tall and 9ft wide in 15 years. Flower: Prolific, bright rosy-mauve flowers in April/May. Fruit: None. Foliage: Heavy, dark green, heart shaped leaves. Soils: Tolerates many different soil types. Adaptable to acid or alkaline soils. Grows well in full sun or partial shade. Habit: Deciduous, slow growing, compact, multi-stemmed shrub.
